2010 Meridian Church League Official Rules

  1. Coaches will be responsible for all players knowing the rules.
  2. Sportsmanship and Christian attitude to be displayed at an times. Ejected players will be suspended for the
    remainder of that game and the next two consecutive games. Any further rejections will result in the player
    being suspended for the remainder of the season and all playoff games.
  3. Winning coaches are responsible for leaving a message for Terry Cushing at 888-1949 or via email at
    tvcushing@msn.com Notify within 24 hours.
  4. No new inning started after 1 Hr. 15 Min. If a game is tied after the time limit has been exceeded, it will
    remain a tie. Playoff games will be played until one team is ahead after a full inning & the championship
    game will be played for 7 innings.
  5. Games may be played with a minimum of 8 players. No out taken for 9th or 10th spots in batting order. In
    order to avoid forfeit during the regular season, coaches may pickup players at the field, if approved by the
    opposing coach. The 9th and 10th batters may be added to the lineup as they arrive.
  6. Coaches may include all players in the lineup that are present at the beginning of the game. If all players
    have been utilized in the lineup and a player is injured and unable to continue in the game, he may be
    removed from the lineup, without receiving an automatic out for that position in the lineup. The injured
    player may not return to the lineup for the remainder of the game.
  7. All players in tournament play must have played at least one game with the team during the regular season
    and each player shaH play for only one team during the playoffs. If a player is caught playing for another
    team during the playoffs, the team will forfeit the game where it is discovered.
  8. Minimum age limit is 16 years old.
  9. No metal spikes.
  10. A courtesy runner is allowed for injured or handicapped players only; the batter must reach first base safely
    before the runner takes over. A faster runner may not be substituted for a slower, healthy runner. The
    courtesy rurmer must be the last recorded out.
  11. If you do not receive a rainout notification by 5 PM, you must show up by game time, or risk a forfeit.
  12. Home run limit will be three (3) per game, per team, over the fence. Any further balls hit over the fence will
    be counted as a single, with rurmers advancing 1 base.
  13. Teams MUST maintain 60% of players attending from the sponsoring church.
  14. The Mercy rule is in effect for all games (including playoffs), 20 runs after 3 innings, 15 runs after 4 innings
    and 10 runs after 5 innings.
